Deepti Kanneganti, M.P.P. (she, her)
Senior Consultant

Deepti has worked with Bailit Health since 2016 to support states to establish cost growth, quality and primary care spend targets, improve performance measurement and quality incentive programs and develop and maintain multi-payer aligned measure sets.

Deepti has performed substantial research and applied work related to quality measures. She is working with Rhode Island Medicaid to modify and maintain its Accountable Entities quality measure slate and incentive methodology. She has supported the creation, implementation, and maintenance of multi-payer aligned quality measure sets for Connecticut, Massachusetts, Oregon, Rhode Island and Vermont. Deepti is also aiding states in addressing health equity through quality measurement. She developed health equity measures that stratify performance by race, ethnicity, language and/or disability status and is designing a typology of and accountability framework for introducing health equity measures into provider contracts. Finally, Deepti helped develop and is now maintaining the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation-funded Buying Value suite of measurement resources.

Deepti´s work has also involved financial and statistical analyses. Most recently, she has supported several states calculate and evaluate performance against their cost growth target, including Connecticut, Delaware and Rhode Island. She is also working with the Connecticut Office of Health Strategy to develop and implement a primary care spend target and a data use strategy to help stakeholders identify areas of high costs and cost growth to help meet the state´s cost growth benchmark.

Previously, Deepti spent a summer as a Fellow with the Care Delivery and Transformation team at the Massachusetts Health Policy Commission. She worked on several projects related to statewide centralized clinical data collection, telehealth and social determinants of health. She also performed strategic analysis and competitive market intelligence for the point-of-care testing in vitro diagnostics market at Boston Biomedical Consultants.

Deepti earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Health: Science, Society and Policy, Neuroscience, and Biology from Brandeis University and a Master of Public Policy degree from Harvard University´s Kennedy School of Government.
